moving out.moving in

h.e.l.l.o

So yesterday I was busy googling places to proceed with IUI but before we decide on any hospital, was thinking of maybe we can save a few hundreds by going elsewhere other than Ramsay Sime Darby Medical Centre (RSDMC), Subang Jaya. HSG procedure had just cost us RM717 when I know it could have been cheaper in LPPKN or Tawakal Hospital to name a few. I find RSDMC a bit easier to arrange for appointments and they treat you well. Okay I know I am being bias but I have valid reasons which I shall tell about it later... All and all I know the cheapest would be doing it with Gov hospitals but because I wanted the security of having to do it in a more hassle free environment, not that I am saying bad things about Gov hospitals but it is going to be quite a process to have to go through and you need to plan for your leave and medical leave etc, so in my head I wanted to do it somewhere that would be able to provide me a little extra guidance and comfort to make me feel better.

We are no rich people. But we need to do this at least once. It is part of our usaha and hope for the best. We need to spend our salary wisely this couple of months in order for us to support the treatment cost. The plan is to use some of my savings and our monthly salary to pay for all of this so that we don't feel like the money is flowing out too much.

Now back to the research on IUI fertility centre. So here was the breakdown of my never ending research on the world wide web and I also dropped them an inquiry to get some feedback:

1. Sunfert International Fertility Centre Sdn Bhd @ Bangsar South

  • All-inclusive IUI package at RM 3,000 that includes doctor's fees, lab charges, procedure room charges commencing from hormonal injection until insemination excluding blood test, all fees and medications charges arises from complications. And any consultation(s), blood test(s) and/or ,medication prior to commencement of treatment are also not included. Basically, I hate it when they say all- in-package but exclude this and that and they end up charging us close to double the initial price quoted.
2. Alpha Fertility Centre
  • Estimation RM2,000 which includes consultation fees, scanning fees, Follicle Stimulation Hormonal injection, HCG injection and IUI procedure fee. This looks okay but if it is more or less the price in RSDMC then why bother.
3. Places like TMC would also be more or less the same. They say it is about RM1,500 but it exclude on a lot of other things which will bring total cost to RM2,500. Hubby did the semen analysis there because they were able to do it on Saturday and we were able to get the result within the same day. Total cost was about RM280. I think... I could not remember. It was few months back in Nov 2015

Most probably we will still stick with Dr Siti since it is our first time and see how it goes from there. Ahh it really is something that I never imagine I would have to go through. I do not want to be all excited because the probability is pretty low. I am however still thankful, really thankful that my HSG result was a thumbs up otherwise HSG plan would have to be scratched out.

Oh and we are also moving out from my parents house by early of next year. Target Jan 2017. That is if I do not get pregnant anytime soon. haha because if I do we might delay it a bit until after pantang. Perhaps March/April 2017? Hubby really wants to start living on our own. Be independent and all. bla bla I am all SAD (and happy at the same time) to leave the nest. My comfort zone. To be fair to the guy, he left his comfort zone too but hey guys are different okay. He had been away most of the time, boading school, uni days etc.Me? hehe I am mostly in my hometown all the way except for about 2 years when I studied in Australia to complete my degree.

As for the new house, well we bought it last year. I thought it will not be completed until at least by end of this year but it looks like they are already in the process of getting the CF and most probably by next month we will be getting the keys. The developer has already been pushed to finish the project asap by the rest of the buyer because they were already behind schedule. I on the other hand is not in a rush..but I do want them to complete the whole thing properly and get everything in place.

IVF Kasih (Mini IVF) Part 1

Here is the story of our first attempt of mini IVF at IVF Kasih. What is mini IVF? Mini IVF is a less invasive, less hassle and a minimal stimulation method some couple opt for to reduce the stress of going through the full ivf. And in terms of the price it cost half the actual price. I won't go into the details too much as you can easily google :) With IVF Kasih in Seksyen 13, Shah Alam it cost us RM 8,800. Any test that they require you to do before the ivf cycle begins such as hormone test, HIV test and the medication needed if you successfully become pregnant will not be part of the package. All in all the cost for us was probably about RM 8,800 + additional RM 1,500.  We begin with scanning on CD2, at this point, I had developed a cysts of my right ovaries. None whatsoever before. Yes, these things happened. Sabar. Then it appears that there were no follicles on my left side. Hence, the doc said, if that is the case, there is a risk that if you start the mini ivf this c...

IVF Kasih (Mini IVF) Part 2

As we arrived in Ipoh, we met the embryologist who told us that all 3 eggs were able to be fertilized. 2 eggs continue to steadily grow while the 3 rd did not. The 2 little fertilized eggs were in good condition and ready to be transferred. I remember the embryologist explained about the grade and the development of the eggs, I just could not recall the exact word she said. I think she said one was in an excellent condition while the other was fairly good. At that point I was just happy to hear that we have 2 embryos and the transfer can be done that day.   Long story short, the transfer was done. It was quick and painless but it was nerve wrecking to be in that position. The room was so cold because of the strong air condition. Dr Tham made me feel more relax. He even turned on the zikir and doa from youtube for me during the procedure. It reaaaallly made me feel more calm throughout the whole process. Hubsy was not allowed to go in to accompany me. Then I had to lay d...

A little update

A little update. After failing to conceive twice through IUI, we have decided to proceed with IVF at IVF Kasih. We did our check ups just before Ramadhan and the Doctor said when we are ready we can give the clinic a call come cycle day 1. I am planning to document and share it in the blog as we take this new journey together. We always hope for the best but its all up to the Almighty if this will be a success. I do hope that it will be a smooth one. IVF Kasih offers a suppose to be less invasive, low stimulation form of IVF where they say it will be more natural, less visit to the hospital (=less stress), less amount of medication to be consumed and mostly because the cost is way cheaper than regular IVF aka mini IVF. I did the research, cheaper does not mean that it won't work. Although it seems to have lower probability to succeed, 40% vs 30% for women age 35 below, it is still a good number. If money is not an issue, I probably would still go for mini IVF and see how it goe...
